Long Island, Bahamas, was
cast from a different mold. There are cliffs that grace
the eastern coast and soft sandy beaches on the western
edge. Long Island is at most, 4 miles wide. You can travel
the 80 mile stretch of the Queen's Highway throughout
the island. Similar to the other "out" islands,
you'll find the straw markets, vegetable stands, and the
catch of the day. The northern tip of the island, Santa
Maria, is named after Columbus's sailing ships. |

Long Island Sailing Regatta that features Bahamian handcrafted
